If you are looking for a great way to keep track of your kids while using your computer, try the Google Paper app. Google has recently been acquired by the Wall Street Journal and it is one of their fastest growing apps. It allows parents and students to use the Google+ social platform to connect through the power of the Web. The app is especially useful for students because it allows them to create a “notes” section on their school pages that can be shared with their friends. The feature allows the student to not only save written notes and access them from any computer.

It’s a terrific idea and Google is already making great strides in expanding its Paper service. Today, it is available in Spain, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Germany and Thailand. In the U.S., only California and New York have the app as of now. Students can write, draw, share and expand on photos via the Paper’s drawing tools, which can be edited and enhanced right there on the web. One of my favorite features is the “pinned post” feature where students can pin images and write new comments right onto the images they’ve pinned.

Even though it is free, the paper will probably become just as popular as other apps. This is because of the neat design and how easy it is to navigate around. When you open the app, you’ll see a whiteboard-like interface. You can scroll down through various sections and you can even go up and down through the slide show of your favorite pictures. You can also search for terms right inside the page so it is very easy to find a specific image you want to reference.

This is perfect for kids because they can write on the whiteboard and add notes to the drawing tools. They can also search the images they’ve pinned so if they’re in a search result, they can quickly find what they are looking for. Once they find an image that interests them, they can save it or take it out of the search results. Once they’re done searching, all they have to do is click the “pin” icon and their work appears right away in the page! It’s a quick and easy way to share works with your class.

One of my favorite parts about the site is the section. The section allows students to group papers together by topic area. You can search by term, keyword, phrase, authors, month of publication, medium, or even year of publication. Students can also search for specific keywords. This makes finding interesting papers easier for students so when they’re ready to read something interesting, they already know where to find it.

Overall, I love the M Mum Google Paper application. It is a great way for me to help my students understand the concepts behind research. They are able to write a paper with the assistance of others and then turn around and share it with their classes. They can also use the Google Docs application from Google to store their assignments so they don’t have to print out anything or type anything into a word processor.
