Is Dragon Age worth the money?

Dragon age is an RPG developed and released by Bioware, a division of EA.

Do you think it is worth your money?

Dragon Age tells the story of a certain group called “Gray Wardens”. They are the protectors of humanity against the plague, but let’s start from the beginning. The story takes place in a country called Ferelden, which is part of the world known as Thedas. This world is inhabited by humans, elves, dwarves, qunari, and dark spawn.

Human beings are divided into countries and groups just like our own society. The most prominent human areas in Dragon Age are Orlais, Ferelden, The Tevinter Imperium, and Free Marches. Other areas are also mentioned, but not as important. Orlais is mentioned by the Chapel, which is the religious faction of the game. In orlais sits the divine Justinia, who is the supreme ruler class of the chapel. Chapel believes in the creator who is the god of Thedas. The Divine is believed to be favored by the creator. The chapel was founded after a ‘prophet’ named Andraste, fought with the imperium of Tevinter, which is an empire controlled by magicians who abuse magic for their own purposes. Other prominent factions in humans are the wizards and templars. Wizards are individuals who are born with magic and Templars are ‘un-gifted’ individuals who swore to protect the world from it. The Templars function like the sword of The Chapel. Magicians are “imprisoned” in Circles around the world where they study their art and are observed by the Templars.

Elves are divided into urban elves and Dalish elves. Urban elves are a species of elves who have “renounced” their heritage and decided to become part of human cities, there they reside within “ghettos” known as Alienages. The other part of the Elves are the Dalish elves who see themselves as the true ‘elves’. They are spread all over the world in tribes, never staying in one place for long and each of them has a guardian who is a Dalish wizard who is tasked with archiving and continual remembrance of their ancient lineage.

Dwarves live in Deep Roads. They also have some features. the Dwarves live in the city of Orzammar. The city itself is divided into neighborhoods and each neighborhood is home to a different faction. Dust Town is the home of the “dusters”, who are people who have no caste. Caste is a kind of title. a boy in Orzammar inherits the title from his father of the same sex. It can be from the warrior caste, blacksmith caste, and noble caste. the warrior caste and the blacksmith caste are considered commoners, while the noble caste is the nobility. Commoners and nobles are divided into single-family houses in Orzammar. Most have a representative in the Assembly, which is a kind of meeting of their government. there sit the houses of the nobles and the royal house to make decisions regarding Orzammar. Most of the time it ended in screaming. The King or Orzammar rules the city, but the Assembly is crucial to the king’s rule.

The Qunari are tall, humanoid-looking creatures with gray skin and horns protruding from their foreheads. They are not the type that you will see every day because they tend to keep to themselves, but they do have a reputation as conquerors and hostile creatures. Qunari believes that everyone is born into their role and can only choose to be (that role) or die. They don’t believe in gods, but they believe in a kind of collection of “rules” called El Qun. They believe that respecting the Qun gives them certainty, while not believing in the Qun results in death. It was recently revealed in Dragon Age 2 that they believe wizards are dangerous and should always be watched or watched separately from their group.

All of this so far seems like a very boring collection of game history, doesn’t it? Well now we start talking about the villain of the game: The Darkspawn.

What are darkspawn? no one really knows for sure how they came to be. The Chapel claims that the darkspawn is the creator’s punishment for attempting to usurp its Golden City. Tevinter’s wizards thought of entering the Veil, the realm of magic, demons, spirits, and the Maker, in order to control sixteen of the Golden City. In doing so, they polluted the pure city and it became the black city. in return, the Creator punished those magicians by transforming them into the first darkspawn and banished them back to our world. There is a horrible way the darkspawn use to increase their numbers, but I won’t spoil it for you.

So, let’s go back to our initial question. What is a plague? The tevinter imperium once believed in the old gods, who are actually intelligent dragons. A plague is the event in which a darkspawn burrows the earth far and wide and finally finds and contaminates an ancient god. that the tainted old god gathers the darkspawn horde and begins to advance towards the living and exterminate them. Gray Guardians exist as warriors to fight pests.

Is this game worth it? I definitely think so. I have personally played it more than 5 times. One of the best things about this game is its origin stories, each character you create has their own story chosen by who you are what you are. and the game responds to that origin throughout the game. you will meet funny characters, incredible places and exciting stories. Additionally, Dragon Age has a large amount of downloadable content that adds areas, characters, and more story to the game. Also, if you’ve heard of Dragon Age II, you probably know that you can import your save data into the game and your decisions will be reflected in the world.

Good luck!
