Raffi King – Poker Player or Businessman?

Start-ups play a very important role in today’s society. Apple was once a startup in a garage, until it got the financing it needed to be a multibillion-dollar corporation. Google was also a new company, with brokers who once sold shares of the Internet search giant for less than $5. It has always been difficult for Raffi King to decide whether or not to enjoy playing poker, her passion, or find bigger startups like Bidz.com to help hundreds or thousands of investors get rich too.

For one, Raffi King has been very successful playing tournament poker with dozens of wins in California and Las Vegas. However, her success with start-ups has been even more impressive.

As a co-founder of online auction giant Bidz.com in 1998, he helped Bidz.com raise the $28 million needed to expand and then go public. Shareholders were greatly rewarded when the company traded on NASDAQ at $8 and within a few months reached $22.50.

“I’ve always loved playing poker,” said Raffi King, the competition really gets me going. “Once I really learned how to play I was hooked.” Raffi King’s dream is to win a coveted bracelet at the World Series of Poker held each year in Las Vegas. “A win there can pay life-changing money,” says Raffi King.

Right now, Raffi King is working with a group of medical engineers and entrepreneurs to develop the world’s first early warning screening device to prevent SIDS or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. “I knew I wanted to be a part of this project the moment I saw it,” Raffi said. SIDS, also known as ‘Crib-Death’, is a tragic thing that affects thousands of babies each year.

If we can help save even one of them, then it’s worth it. You can read more about this amazing new project by visiting the company’s website at Remote Life System. This product is expected to be in stores within a year.
