Guilty until proven innocent?

This article is about my son. I will not mention any names in this article because if the wrong person reads it, it could make it even more difficult for him than it is already going on.

Let me start by saying that the justice system in the United States, or the state that we live in, is totally trashed. I am not saying this because I am referring to my son. Rather, it’s because I’ve seen killers get away with less time than they will spend in jail for a parole violation. There is no bond for a parole violation; so as long as the judge decides when your hearing will be, that is how long you will have to stay in jail.

So let’s say you were arrested on November 6 and your hearing will be on December 11. What happened to our constitutional rights to a speedy trial? Not only did the boy miss his first anniversary, his birthday and Thanksgiving, but he also has both of his grandparents in the hospital for heart attacks. Our justice system is so shattered that a murderer can get out of jail, but a parole violator cannot. I know my son is not an angel, but he is certainly not a murderer, rapist, drug dealer, pedophile, or terrorist.

I tell you, those kinds of people can get out of jail anytime they want, as long as they have the MONEY. The original order my son was given was a sentence after escaping from training ground. The reason he tried to escape was when he got there, a guard hit him against the wall for swearing. This boy is bipolar and manic-depressive and does not make good decisions in anything he does. She is 26 years old, has always lived at home, has never been able to keep a job, and now she probably never will.

His problems started at school. He couldn’t cope with the education system because they couldn’t understand his disability. So he turned to the doctors for help. Doctors prescribed antidepressants, sleeping pills, etc. Well, the more drugs he took, the worse it got. Then it turned into an addiction, leading to harsher drugs on the street and eventually to a methadone clinic. Well, I can tell you that these methadone clinics are not there to help you. They are the devil in disguise. All they want is your money.

While on probation, my son decided to start his own business selling scrap metal. He had a guy come up to him and tell him that he could have all the junk in this certain place. But my brain-dead son is going to the wrong place! The guy sees him pick up some things, confronts him and says he’s going to beat him up. So my son tells the man that he will return it before he leaves. But the guy acts crazy, so my son runs away. The guy follows him down a major interstate highway, crashes his truck twice, and they are both on 911 calling the police. Finally they come to an exit where the police meet them, they point their guns at my son and his wife and arrest him. Then the police shake hands with the guards and say they did a good job. This was in addition to the probation violation, as I said guilty until proven innocent.

My son was serving a four-year probation sentence on the escape charge. He was fined $ 2,500, as far as I don’t know. I would like to know where this money is going. He had paid $ 2,082 and only had $ 433 left to pay it off. But they said it wasn’t paid fast enough. Again, all they want is money, and I want to know where it goes! Whose pocket is this lining?

Not only was he fined $ 2,500, but he also has to pay a probation fee of $ 30 per month. Again, where does that money go? Are you going to the probation officers who sit there and hold out their hands? They say “Hey, you owe us $ 30 this month!” Instead, they should be saying, “How can I help you? Is there something you need? Is there something I can help you with, a problem, something?” I even went as far as calling his probation officer to try to understand what happened, why he did not inform my son of the necessary payment. She said, “I have 125 people to supervise and I don’t have time to call Mom and Dad or the person on probation.”

Well let me tell you, I supervise 150 people and I have time for each and every one of them. So what does that tell you? He tells me they’re just a bunch of lazy bums who don’t want to do their jobs. They wait until it’s too late; then people on probation have to suffer the consequences. And these are your tax dollars in action!

Drug addiction in the United States is out of control. One pill will fix anything. At least that’s what the doctors think. This boy has been in and out of jail since he was 15 years old because he cannot make a rational decision. Follow the wrong leader. His self-esteem is so low that he believes that he cannot deal with anyone above his level. So you’ve accepted a life full of idiots. The justice system has no mercy on people like my son, such as trying to get him help or some form of financial assistance to help him cope with his mental condition.

Once again, all they want is MONEY! And guess where the money comes from: Mom and Dad. Attorney fees, court costs, probation fees, fines. Now I am bankrupt because my son has a disease. I am writing this article for your help. Do you think it is right for a lady to shoot her husband in the back with a shotgun and only spend three months in jail? There were other options available to her. My son does not have these other options due to his illness. His original escape sentence was 10 to 20 years in prison for running. He didn’t hurt anyone, he didn’t try to hurt anyone, he just wanted to run.

He just doesn’t know any better because the drugs have taken their toll on him. So they let drug traffickers, murderers, rapists, pedophiles and terrorists roam our streets, while my son sits behind bars in a crowded cell with five other inmates, sleeping on the floor. You have to fight for your food, your belongings, and your sanity. I am the manager of a recognized company. He has worked for me for years and always did a good job. Even the president of the United States has confessed to smoking marijuana – oh yes, but he did not inhale. Well, hey, my son might have screwed up, but he’s never lied about it. Every time he has gone to court, he has never objected to the prosecution. He simply pleaded guilty because he was too intimidated to appear before a jury. And the original crime for which he was convicted, he did not commit. But because the court system says there is no ancillary law in this state, he was charged with the crime. I had no idea what happened. But they tied this kid up in the court system for MONEY and whatever they can get out of ME.

I have sent this child to doctors, psychiatrists and therapists to no avail. It has only made the problem worse. What I ask now is help. The legal system is not interested in helping people, all they want is MONEY. I need your help with any suggestions or comments on this matter.

My son is a very loving child with a very loving wife and two wonderful children. It would be a terrible injustice for this child to spend the next 10 years in prison. Let me say that my son and I love fishing together, and have been doing it since time began. This is the only true moment when you are at peace with yourself. So any comments or words of wisdom for me will be appreciated. Email me at [email protected].

And keep us in your prayers
