Your cat will be out of heat perhaps every two weeks of the mating season. The warmest months are when your cat is in heat, usually spring and fall. The colder months will be out of heat.

She will start to bleed from her vagina, it may not be as obvious as it is for dogs. Her vulva will swell and she may urinate a lot more. She will also spray a lot around the house spreading her scent to attract male cats. She will spray up, not down on the ground. She will become extremely affectionate and will roll over and spend a lot of time rubbing up against you, meowing and calling. She can even squeal a lot if she can’t get out. She may see male cats hanging around her property.

Just because your cat has bred once while in heat does not make her out of heat. A female cat will usually be in heat for around seven days and in that time she may mate with several female cats. She can also get pregnant from each of those toms.

There are cases in which your cat does not come out of heat and it is better to see the vet because she may have a disease called pyometra.
