Walking to the Bible – Jordan

For travelers interested in religion, Jordan is the place to be. Muwakir Fort plays a very important role in the history of religion. Apparently, Mount Nebo is the place where Moses caught a glimpse of the Promised Land before he died. Then there is Madaba which is again a very religious site which has the Map of Madaba. This Map is said to be the oldest description of the Holy Land dating from the 6th century. There is also the famous Jordan River where Jesus was baptized.

If you are a big fan of sea views and love to indulge in nightlife, then Aqaba is the city for you. It is popular for its magnificent coral reefs and the incomparable marine life that is featured. Many parties and concerts are held in Aqaba by international DJs.

If you are a lover of peace and love to be quiet, then the place to venture is Wadi Rum. This desert is located in the southern region of the country and is covered with hills and mountains.

One of the best sites in Jordan is Petra. This entire city is beautifully carved in stone and has made its place among the new Seven Wonders of the World. To achieve this prestigious status, Petra surpassed other well-known sites such as Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Machu Picchu in Peru. Petra truly deserves to be called the most spectacular city in the world. When in Petra, a visit to the surrounding town is unavoidable.

The climate in Jordan is semi-dry in summer with an average temperature of 30 °C and relatively cold in winter with an average of 13 °C. Jordan has a lot to do and offer. It is almost impossible for someone to get bored. So it won’t be unlikely if you find time slipping away quickly.
