understand people

Sometimes all you need to do to save someone is listen to them, pay attention, try to understand what they have to say, see things from their point of view. Every once in a while, someone gets knocked down by life. They need help. They need someone to hold their hand when they’re on the ground, crawling, struggling to get up on scraped knees. They need someone to make them smile. They need someone who cares. They need someone to listen to them. They need a friend. A friend who is always there. No one can deny the fact that every year, many, many people take their own lives. Does that mean that in the whole world, filled with billions of people, there is no one, NO ONE, who cares about them? Or at least shed a tear for them? If not, why make them feel that way? Does it pain you to give an unpopular kid in your school the seat next to you? Does it hurt you to let others play with you? Does it hurt to talk to a lonely soul, once in a while? Or should I say, does it hurt to save a life… when all the other asks for is a moment of your precious time?

Nobody said that it is easy to help those who suffer, those who suffer, those who are downcast. But is it easy to see the pain of others? And I swear to you that what you see others go through is not really what they go through. They go through much worse things. Worse than you can imagine. Your head would spin and you’d lose your wings, if you could feel it. But then only those who go through this can understand the pain. The pain of being alone in a place full of people, happy people, laughing together.

Let’s be very honest here, have you ever lost yourself completely? When you no longer know where to go. It’s like thinking which way to swim when you’re in the middle of an ocean, an endless ocean. So how can you explain a color, when you’re blind? How can you recognize a voice, when you are deaf? How can you feel the pain of death, when you have not died? So tell me, how can you judge someone who has had no one in his entire life, and has only heard bad words, only experienced pain and only fallen, lower and lower? How not to judge the many people who are standing at the top, next to the well, and still do not lower the rope to the one who is still lower, crying for help, crying and screaming in vain?

So take a minute and think about it… maybe you need to change yourself sometimes.
